Schools and Universities Career Guidance

Cheryl McCormack is a certified practitioner of the Strong Interest Inventory® with a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a lifetime practitioner in all matters relating to employment.

What is the Strong Interest Inventory®?

The Strong Interest Inventory® (SII®) is one of the most respected and widely used career planning instruments globally. It is a valuable exercise for the following applications;

  • Exploring career options
  • Transitioning in a career
  • Considering a career change
  • Seeking to improve one’s level of career satisfaction

Career Guidance Workshops for Students

Career Guidance Workshops can be arranged at schools and universities in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Customised to your students’ needs, the workshops normally run for a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours and are conducted onsite at your school, university campus or a venue organised by you.

Much of the focus during a Workshop is directed toward the iStartStrong® Report provided to each student prior. This assessment is particularly appropriate to the facilitation of large workshops as it is self-reporting with no requirement for individual feedback or interpretation.

Workshops are an effective tool in motivating students’ interest in their possible career options ahead having completed the assessment prior.

What can the iStartStrong® Report do for your students?

The Strong assessment has been used for decades and provides time-tested, research-validated insights to help individuals in their search for a rich, fulfilling career.

Based on the same research as the Strong Interest Inventory® it is used extensively by career counsellors within educational institutions of all sizes.

The iStartStrong® Report is authored by leading career expert Judith Grutter and includes each student’s match to the following;

  • 6 General Occupational Themes
  • Top 5 Specific Interests
  • 25 More Specific Interests
  • 25 Top Career Matches
  • Other Areas of Study
  • Related Career Fields for consideration

The iStartStrong® Report career test online has 291 questions and takes about 35-40 minutes to complete. It requires an 8th grade reading level and is suitable for those 14 years of age and above.
